Your Privacy Matters
At HumanWrite, we are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your data responsibly. This policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information.
Information We Collect
When you use HumanWrite, we collect the following information:
- Account Information: your email address and a bcrypt-hashed password, if you create an account.
- Usage Metadata: word counts, the time of each request, the browser user-agent string, and a salted hash of your IP address. We do not retain the text you submit or the rewritten output.
- Free Trial Records: the signals described in the Free Trial section below.
- Payment Information: payments by card, Apple Pay or Google Pay, or in USDT through Telegram CryptoBot, are handled by our payment service providers. For card payments, your email address is shared with the payment provider so it can send your receipt. We store the plan purchased, the amount, the payment status and the payment reference and transaction identifier. Card details are entered directly on the payment provider's page; we never see or store them.
How We Use Your Text
Submitted text is processed only to generate your result and is not stored by HumanWrite. We never sell your content or publish it.
- We rely on trusted technical service providers to process requests and operate the Service. Your text is transmitted over encrypted (HTTPS) connections for this purpose.
- HumanWrite does not store the content of your submissions or the rewritten output in its database.
- Please do not submit confidential or personal information that you are not permitted to share.
- We do not use your text for any purpose other than providing the rewriting service.
Free Trial and Abuse Prevention
HumanWrite offers a single free trial: one use of up to 500 words per person and per device. To enforce this limit and to prevent abuse, we use the following measures. They are used solely for these purposes and never for advertising, cross-site tracking, or profiling.
- Trial cookie: a signed, httpOnly cookie (
hw_trial) containing a random identifier, valid for one year. - Client identifier: a random identifier stored in your browser's localStorage and IndexedDB.
- Browser and device fingerprinting: we use the open-source FingerprintJS library, together with basic graphics (WebGL) information, to compute two hashed fingerprints of your browser and device characteristics (for example, screen properties, time zone, language, installed fonts and hardware details). Only the resulting hashes are sent to and stored by us.
- IP address: your IP address is stored only as a salted SHA-256 hash (for IPv6, the network prefix is hashed). The raw IP address is not stored.
- Email address: if you are signed in, a salted hash of your normalized email address (for example, with letter case, dots in Gmail addresses, and “+” tags removed) is stored with the trial record.
Requests that do not include these browser signals cannot use the free trial. Because some signals may be shared by different people (for example, a shared network), you may contact us if you believe the trial was refused in error.
Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information:
- All passwords are hashed using bcrypt before storage
- IP addresses, email addresses used for trial enforcement, and fingerprints are stored only as hashes
- Secure HTTPS connections for all data transmission
- Limited data retention, as described below
Service Providers
We rely on trusted technical service providers to process requests and operate the Service, including hosting, database and request-processing infrastructure. We do not share your information with advertisers or data brokers.
Cookies and Local Storage
We use an essential cookie to maintain your login session (valid for up to 30 days) and the trial cookie described above (valid for one year), together with a client identifier in localStorage and IndexedDB. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies.
Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Request deletion of your account and associated data
- Opt out of promotional communications
- Request a copy of your data
Data Retention
- Account information is retained for as long as your account is active, and deleted upon request.
- Submitted text and rewritten output are not stored by HumanWrite beyond the time required to process your request.
- Free trial records (the random cookie and client identifiers, the full fingerprint hash, and the hashed email address) are retained for as long as the service operates, because they are required to enforce the one-time trial. The hashed IP address and the coarse fingerprint hash are used for matching for 30 days only.
- Usage metadata (word counts, timestamps, user-agent strings and hashed IP addresses) is retained for service operation, security and accounting purposes.
- Trial cookie: one year. Session cookie: up to 30 days.
Children's Privacy
HumanWrite is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify users of significant changes by email or through a notice on our website.
